Podgora 5k Hike

About the route

This easy hiking route offers a pleasant walk through beautiful nature with impressive views and interesting points of interest along the way. With a length of 5.6 km and a total elevation difference of 198 meters, the route is ideal for recreational hikers and families wanting to spend an active day outdoors.

The route starts from the Podgorje waterfront and heads up a paved road to the Seagull’s wing (Galebovo krilo). This initial climb provides a gentle introduction to the adventure and an opportunity to enjoy the views of the surrounding landscapes.

After the Seagull’s Wing, the route continues along gravel roads, allowing hikers to more closely explore the diverse nature surrounding them. The route leads to the highest point of the route near the Three Stone Graves (Troje Gomile), a spectacular place for panoramic photos. A pleasant descent follows back towards the famed Seagull’s wing monument.

The route then returns to Podgora along the same paved road.

With a round trip time of 1 hour and 45 minutes, this route is perfect for those who want to spend an active day outdoors, exploring the stunning landscapes and enjoying the fresh air.

Podgora 10k Hike

About the route

This slightly more demanding hiking route offers a challenging adventure through spectacular landscapes with varied terrain and significant points of interest along the way. With a length of 10 km and a total ascent of 316 m, this route is ideal for experienced hikers looking for an exciting hiking adventure.

The route starts from the waterfront in Podgora, with a quick start along the paved ascent to the Seagull’s Wing (Galebovo krilo) monument, perfect for a comfortable warm up and to enjoy the initial views of the surrounding landscapes.

After Seagull’s Wing, the route continues up the hiking trail and gravel roads towards the Three Stone Graves (Troje Gomile) site, where you will be rewarded with spectacular views and interesting terrain.

Further, the route leads through the area called Borići towards Gornja Podgora, where the ascent continues uphill along a paved road.

Just before the highest point, the route turns 180 degrees to the right onto a gravel road and continues with a gentle descent towards Gornja Podgora. Here you can take a break and enjoy a relaxing part of the trail as you descend towards the valley.

 

Podgora 15k Hike

About the route

This more demanding walking route provides an exciting experience through diverse landscapes with significant points of interest along the way. With its length of 15.5 km and a total elevation difference of 444 meters, this route is ideal for experienced hikers looking for a challenging adventure and wanting to explore the wider area around Podgora and Drašnice.

The route starts uphill towards the Church of St. George, climbing through beautiful landscapes for a quick and comfortable warm up. Before reaching the church itself, be sure to take extra care and comply with all traffic rules as you cross the D8 state road.

After the Church of St. George, the route continues with a gentle gravel and paved climb towards Gornja Podgora, where you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the landscape as you climb towards the top.

A gentle descent follows to the Three Stone Graves (Troje Gomile) site, where you can enjoy a relaxed walk and observe the surrounding natural beauty. Further, the route leads towards the Seagull’s Wing (Galebovo krilo) monument and Podgora.

Through Podgora, the route passes along the coastal promenade, and then starts to ascend again along the combined roads to the upper gravel road connecting Podgora with Drašnice. The final section of the route returns to Drašnice along the same route it took towards Podgora.
