Southern Riviera
About the route
The southern part… This route leads you to explore the southern part of these destinations from Gradac to Ploče and the Baćina Lakes to the Polja Jezero field by Vrgorac.
Here the route begins to climb via the village Vina to Vrgorac, and soon reaches another demanding climb in the Vrgorac village Kozica before descending back towards the coast and returning to Gradac.
Around Biokovo
About the route
A classic, circular, and one hundred kilometers long road route encircles Biokovo, connecting coastal towns and inland areas with the expanses of the mountain, while also touching the peripheral parts of the nature park.
The route features several climbs and descents that are not overly challenging for experienced cyclists, providing unforgettable views of the Adriatic Sea and the karst beauty of Zabiokovlje. This is one of those almost obligatory “must-do” routes for every passionate cyclist visiting the Makarska Riviera.
From the Sea to the Field
About the route
With three challenging ascents and low traffic intensity, this route offers the ideal combination of struggle and sense of achievement for all road cycling enthusiasts.
The first ascent is right at the beginning, from Podgora towards Gornji Igrane, after which you slowly descend towards Polje Jezero. There, before the next ascent, the one through the village of Vina towards Vrgorac, you can rest at the Kokorići ethno village. After Vrgorac, the route continues through flatter landscapes until the third and final ascent in the Vrgorac village of Kozica, after which, as a reward for all the effort, there is a spectacular descent towards Podgora with million-dollar views.
